Getting started

Is TrucklineMP free?

Yes. The client, the servers and your account cost nothing. You only need your own copy of Euro Truck Simulator 2.

Can I play TrucklineMP right now?

The launcher is available to download today, but multiplayer is open to beta testers for now.

What do I need to play?

A Steam copy of Euro Truck Simulator 2 with at least 7 hours played, and a PC running Windows 10 64-bit or newer, or Ubuntu 20.04 or newer.

Do I need any DLCs?

No. The base game is all you need to drive with everyone else.

Does it work on Linux?

Yes. A Linux AppImage ships alongside the Windows installer. Linux support is still in beta, so expect a few rough edges.

About TrucklineMP

Is this TruckersMP?

No. TrucklineMP is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TruckersMP or SCS Software.

Is TrucklineMP a good alternative to TruckersMP?

It depends on what you want. TruckersMP is the established choice, with more than 6 million registered users and servers for both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. TrucklineMP is newer and still in beta. It's built for Euro Truck Simulator 2, resolves collisions, suspension and friction on one shared server, and puts companies, events and moderation on one Steam sign-in.

Do I need a TruckersMP account to play?

No. TrucklineMP has its own launcher and its own account. You sign in with Steam, and TrucklineMP never asks for an email or a password.

Does TrucklineMP support American Truck Simulator?

No. TrucklineMP is built for Euro Truck Simulator 2 only. If you want to drive American Truck Simulator online, TruckersMP supports both games.

Does Euro Truck Simulator 2 have its own multiplayer?

Yes. The game's built-in Convoy mode lets players host their own private sessions. TrucklineMP and TruckersMP are separate, independent services with their own servers, accounts and communities.

Multiplayer and convoys

How is TrucklineMP multiplayer different?

Collisions, suspension and friction are resolved on one shared server. What happens to your truck happens the same way for every driver around you, so a tight convoy stays predictable.

How do I join a convoy?

Pick an event from the calendar and sign up, or join a virtual company to drive with the same crew every week.

Browse events

Can I host my own convoy?

Yes. Any driver can plan an event, and companies can host convoys with depot slots for visiting companies. Start times show in each driver's own time zone.

Companies

What is a VTC?

A virtual trucking company: a group of drivers who convoy together under one name. On TrucklineMP a company gets its own page, recruitment, events and roles built from 84 permissions.

How do I start my own company?

Sign in and create one from the companies page. You can theme its page, set up roles and open recruitment when you're ready.

Account and security

How do I sign in?

With your Steam account. We never ask for an email or a password, so there is nothing like that stored with us to leak.

Do you store my password or email?

No. You sign in through Steam, so there's no TrucklineMP password to steal, and we never ask for your email.

Can TrucklineMP access my Steam account?

No. Sign-in uses Steam's official OpenID, which only gives us your public Steam ID. We never see your Steam password and can't act on your Steam account.

Can I add two-factor authentication?

Yes. Add an authenticator app in your account security settings, and you'll be asked for a code when you sign in.

How do I know the launcher is genuine?

Download it only from trucklinemp.com. Each release lists its SHA-256 checksum on the download page, so you can check that your file is the one we published.

What does the game client collect?

To enforce bans, the client checks its own integrity and collects hardware and system identifiers. They're used only to keep banned players from coming back. The privacy policy has the details.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Confirm on the account deletion page, with your two-factor code if you use one. Your profile and linked accounts are deleted with it, and only anonymized gameplay statistics remain.

Are community polls anonymous?

Not completely. Other players only ever see totals, never who answered what. Your response is linked to your account so each person answers once, and only team members with a dedicated permission can see who answered. Every lookup is logged.

I found a security issue. Who do I tell?

Email [email protected] with the details. Please give us time to fix it before you share it publicly.

Fair play

How do I report a player?

Open the player's profile and choose Report, or contact support. Say what happened, when and who was involved. A moderator reviews every report, and you can see how it ended.

Are bans handed out automatically?

No. A trained moderator decides, not a script, and every decision is logged.

I was banned. What now?

Every ban can be appealed through a documented process, and a moderator reviews each appeal.

Developers

Is there a public API?

Yes. There's a REST API with API keys, Sign in with TrucklineMP (OAuth 2.0 with PKCE) and webhooks for building community tools.
