Terms of Service
Effective Date: 26 May 2026 Last Reviewed: 26 May 2026
Welcome to TrucklineMP. Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully. These Terms govern your access to and use of the TrucklineMP platform and associated services (collectively, the "Services").
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms, by the linked Code of Conduct, Rules, Cookie Policy, and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Services.
1. About Us
TrucklineMP is a community-driven multiplayer platform for Euro Truck Simulator 2. The Services are operated and managed by Dainton Hunter Weighill, based in Great Britain ("we", "us", "our").
Disclaimer: TrucklineMP is an unofficial project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by SCS Software s.r.o., Valve Corporation, Discord Inc., Google LLC, Cloudflare Inc., OpenAI, or any other company whose name appears in these Terms.
2. Eligibility and Registration
- Age requirement. You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Services. If you are under 18 (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction), you must have parental or guardian permission. We do not knowingly accept registrations from anyone under 13 (see Notice to Parents).
- Steam-first registration. Account registration is currently Steam-first. Some platform subdomains delegate authentication to a separate identity service (
id.trucklinemp.comorid-dev.trucklinemp.com). - Account linking. After registering, you may link additional supported providers (currently Discord, Google, YouTube, and Twitch). Linked accounts are governed by both these Terms and the linked provider's terms; we do not control those providers.
- Single-account policy. You may only hold one (1) active TrucklineMP account. Creating additional accounts to evade restrictions, manipulate the platform, or abuse the recruitment / VTC / support systems is prohibited.
- Accurate information. You agree to provide accurate information at registration and to keep your account current. You are solely responsible for activity under your account.
- Two-factor authentication. We strongly encourage 2FA for all users and require it for staff and certain elevated permissions.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights;
- harass, threaten, or abuse other users (see Code of Conduct);
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services or another user's account;
- use automation, bots, scripts, scraping tools, or headless browsers to interact with the Services in ways not expressly permitted (the official API in section 8 is the supported automation surface);
- attempt to probe, test, exploit, or report vulnerabilities outside the security disclosure channel at
[email protected]; - reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any non-open-source part of the Services;
- circumvent rate limits, CAPTCHA challenges, queue protection, or maintenance restrictions;
- upload, transmit, or generate content that violates the Code of Conduct.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
4. User-Generated Content
Where the Services allow you to submit content (such as profile information, profile pictures, VTC details, support ticket replies, devlog entries, recruitment answers, or any other material), you retain ownership of that content.
By submitting content, you grant TrucklineMP a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, display, and adapt that content only as necessary to operate the Services. The license terminates when the content is deleted, except where retention is required for legal, security, or moderation purposes.
You represent that you have the right to submit the content and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights. We may remove, edit, or restrict access to content at our discretion, particularly content that violates the Code of Conduct or these Terms.
4.1 Profile pictures
Profile pictures you upload are stored in our object storage (Cloudflare R2) and are subject to automated safety review (see Privacy Policy section 9.4). We may block, replace, or require re-review of pictures that the safety check flags. You can request human re-review of any blocked picture at [email protected].
4.2 Public versus internal content
Some user-generated content (e.g. profile pictures, public profile fields, devlogs, public support knowledge-base articles, VTC profile information) is publicly visible. Other content (e.g. support ticket bodies, recruitment answers, internal staff notes) is visible only to you and authorized staff. Please consider this distinction before submitting any content.
5. Service-Specific Terms
The Services include the following features. Each is subject to these Terms in addition to any feature-specific guidelines.
5.1 VTCs (Virtual Trucking Companies)
- VTC owners are responsible for their VTC's name, branding, member roster, and member behavior in official VTC spaces.
- VTC names, tags, and descriptions must not be offensive, misleading, or impersonate other VTCs, brands, or persons.
- A VTC may verify ownership of a Discord guild by linking the guild ID. The owner of that guild must approve the link.
- Official, verified, partnered, or featured statuses are at our discretion and may be granted, modified, or revoked at any time.
- VTCs used to evade bans, harass other users, or systematically violate the Rules may be dissolved.
- On dissolution, member rosters and audit history are retained as part of moderation records (see Privacy Policy section 11).
5.2 Events
- VTC owners and authorized members may publish events. Events are subject to staff moderation.
- We may unpublish, modify, or merge events that violate these Terms or the Rules, or that mislead attendees.
5.3 Recruitment
- Applying for a staff or VTC role is voluntary. By applying, you consent to the processing of your application as described in the Privacy Policy.
- You agree that the answers you provide will be reviewed by authorized staff and reviewers, and that scorecards and reviewer notes are not shared with applicants except where summarized in a status notification.
- Misrepresentation in an application is grounds for rejection, withdrawal of an offer, or removal of a granted role.
5.4 Support
- Support tickets are reviewed by authorized staff only. Internal notes on a ticket are not visible to you.
- Abusive use of the support system (including spam, threats, or repeated submission of bad-faith tickets) is grounds for restriction.
- Knowledge-base articles are intended as guidance and are not a guarantee of outcome.
5.5 Notifications and Discord webhooks
- We may send you in-app notifications related to your activity.
- Where ops have configured Discord webhook integrations for a department, position, ticket, or globally, certain operational notifications are also posted to those webhooks (see Privacy Policy section 9.5). Configuration is staff-side only.
5.6 Mobile application
- The TrucklineMP mobile app authenticates against the same identity system as the web platform.
- Use of the mobile app is governed by these Terms in addition to the rules of the platform store you obtained the app from.
5.7 Beta and NDA-gated features
- Some features are offered in beta. We may require you to accept a Beta NDA (or other supplemental terms) before access is granted. Failure to comply with the Beta NDA may result in immediate revocation of beta access and other action where the breach is material.
- Beta features may change, regress, or be removed without notice. They are provided "as is" without service-level commitment.
5.8 Queue and maintenance
- The Services include a queue mechanism that may admit or hold connections during peak load or maintenance. Holding a queue position requires the
queue_idcookie. - During declared maintenance, parts of the Services may be unavailable except for staff with bypass.
6. Staff and Volunteer Roles
- Staff, moderator, recruiter, and other elevated roles are voluntary and at our discretion.
- Roles may be granted, scoped, or removed at any time, subject to internal due process.
- Holders of elevated roles may be required to accept a Staff NDA and to enable two-factor authentication.
7. Intellectual Property
All rights in and to the Services — including software, design, text, graphics, fonts, logos, and branding — remain the exclusive property of TrucklineMP and its licensors, except for user-generated content as described in section 4.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Services other than as expressly permitted by these Terms or by an applicable open-source license.
7.1 Copyright complaints (DMCA / EU equivalents)
If you believe content on the Services infringes your copyright, send a notice to [email protected] containing:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed;
- identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with sufficient detail (e.g. URL or ticket number) to locate it;
- your contact information;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner or by law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on its behalf.
We will respond to valid notices in line with the DMCA (United States), the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act, the EU Copyright Directive and Digital Services Act, and other applicable law. If material is removed, we will notify the user who submitted it and offer them an opportunity to file a counter-notice.
7.2 Trade marks and impersonation
We will remove content, profile pictures, VTC names, and handles that infringe trade marks or that impersonate real people, organisations, or other VTCs. Send reports to [email protected].
8. Developer Terms (API, OAuth Apps, Webhooks)
If you use the developer features of the Services — API tokens, OAuth applications, webhooks, or the public API — the following additional terms apply.
8.1 API tokens
- API tokens are bound to your account and assume your permissions.
- You must keep tokens secret. Compromised tokens must be revoked from your developer settings immediately.
- We may revoke any token at any time for security or compliance reasons.
8.2 OAuth applications
- You may register OAuth applications that use TrucklineMP as an identity provider. You are responsible for the conduct of your application.
- Your application must clearly disclose its identity to users at the consent screen, must request only the scopes it actually needs, and must store any access or refresh tokens it receives with the same care as a password.
- Your application's privacy practices must be at least as protective as ours for the data your app obtains from us. You must not on-sell, share for advertising, or repurpose that data outside the scope authorized by the user.
- We may suspend or revoke OAuth applications that violate these Terms or that abuse the consent flow.
8.3 Webhooks
- You may configure webhooks to receive events from your account or from resources you control.
- Webhook payloads are signed with a secret you configure. You are responsible for verifying signatures and for the security of the receiving endpoint.
8.4 Acceptable use of the API
You may not use the API to:
- circumvent rate limits, permission checks, or restrictions imposed elsewhere in the Services;
- scrape or bulk-export user data beyond what your scopes authorize;
- build a competing or derivative directory of users, VTCs, or events without our written permission;
- run load tests against production endpoints without coordinating with us;
- send unsolicited messages, notifications, or webhook deliveries.
We publish per-token rate limits in product. We may tighten or relax limits at any time and may temporarily block tokens that breach limits.
9. Service Availability, Changes, and Pre-Launch
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice.
The Services are currently in a pre-launch phase. Features described in these Terms or elsewhere may not yet be available, may be in beta, or may change before and after full launch.
We will use reasonable efforts to give advance notice of material changes to features that affect your account.
10. Termination and Account Deletion
- You may close your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing
[email protected]. On deletion, we remove or anonymize personal data as described in the Privacy Policy, subject to legal, security, and platform-integrity exceptions. - We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, the Code of Conduct, the Rules, or applicable law, or where we are legally required to do so. Where the violation is not safety-critical, we will normally apply progressive enforcement (warning → suspension → ban).
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination (sections 4 ownership, 7 IP, 11 disclaimers, 12 liability, 13 governing law, 14 disputes) will survive.
11. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" to the maximum extent permitted by law. We make no warranty that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose, except where a warranty is required by law and cannot be excluded.
We are not liable for the conduct of other users, including content posted by users in VTC or community spaces, except where required by law.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- TrucklineMP and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or reputational harm, arising from or related to your use of or inability to use the Services.
- Our aggregate liability for any direct damages arising from or related to these Terms is limited to one hundred British pounds (GBP £100), or, if you have paid us money in the twelve months prior to the claim, the amount you have paid (whichever is greater).
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law, including:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- statutory consumer rights, including non-excludable rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and equivalent EU and US state consumer-protection laws.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that:
- if you are a consumer in the EU, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence; and
- if you are a consumer in the UK, you retain any non-waivable rights under UK consumer law.
14. Dispute Resolution
Before formal proceedings, please contact [email protected] and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will respond within 30 days.
EU consumers may use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. We will update the Effective Date at the top when changes are published, and we will give in-product notice of material changes. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
