Code of Conduct

Effective date: 26 May 2026

TrucklineMP is a community built around Euro Truck Simulator 2. This Code of Conduct sets out the behavioral standards everyone is expected to uphold, both in community spaces and when using the platform's features.

Using TrucklineMP services means accepting this Code of Conduct. Violations may result in warnings, suspension, or permanent bans depending on severity and history.

1. Core Principles

  1. Respect — Treat every person with dignity, regardless of background or skill level.
  2. Fairness — Do not gain advantage through deception, cheating, or abuse.
  3. Safety — Protect your own wellbeing and that of others in every interaction.
  4. Honesty — Be truthful in applications, reports, and communication with staff.

2. Prohibited Behavior

Harassment and Abuse

  • Threats, intimidation, or targeted harassment.
  • Hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory language.
  • Doxing or sharing personal information without consent.
  • Encouraging others to target specific people.
  • Coordinated brigading, raids, or pile-ons.

Impersonation and Deception

  • Impersonating staff, moderators, or other users.
  • Creating accounts to evade bans.
  • Deliberate misinformation intended to harm others.
  • Submitting recruitment applications under a false identity or with knowingly false information.

Cheating and Exploitation

Inappropriate Content

The following are prohibited anywhere user-generated content can appear, including profile pictures, profile fields, VTC names and descriptions, devlog entries, support ticket bodies, and recruitment answers:

  • sexual content, especially anything sexualizing minors (zero tolerance — automatic permanent ban and reporting to authorities where required);
  • graphic violence, gore, or content glorifying real-world violence;
  • hate symbols, slurs, or content promoting discrimination;
  • spam, unauthorized external promotion, or affiliate-link laundering;
  • content glorifying self-harm or criminal activity;
  • nudity or otherwise NSFW imagery.

We use automated safety checks on uploaded profile pictures (see Privacy Policy section 9.4). Bypassing or attempting to evade these checks is itself a violation.

Account Security Misuse

  • Sharing your account with others.
  • Attempting to access accounts that are not yours.
  • Phishing or social engineering for credentials.
  • Harvesting OAuth tokens or API tokens, including through impersonating an OAuth client to a user.

3. In-Game Conduct

When participating in TrucklineMP-organized events or convoys:

  • Follow convoy and event staff instructions.
  • No intentional ramming, blocking, or disruption.
  • Drive responsibly and represent the community positively.
  • Use the reports system for violations; do not retaliate in-game.

4. VTC Owner Responsibilities

  • VTC owners are responsible for member behavior in official VTC spaces, including any linked Discord guild verified to the VTC.
  • VTC names, tags, descriptions, banners, and avatars must not be offensive, misleading, or impersonating.
  • VTCs used for harassment, ban evasion, or coordinated rule-breaking may be dissolved.
  • VTC owners must keep their member roster, role assignments, and event listings honest.

5. Recruitment Honesty

  • Do not submit applications you do not intend to honor.
  • Do not misrepresent your experience, identity, age, or availability.
  • Do not solicit or accept bribes or favors in exchange for recruitment outcomes.
  • Reviewers must declare conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from applications they cannot review impartially.

6. Use of the API and Automation

If you use the official API, OAuth applications, or webhooks (see Terms of Service section 8):

  • Do not circumvent rate limits, permission checks, or queue protection.
  • Do not scrape or bulk-export user data beyond what your scopes authorize.
  • Do not flood Discord webhooks, in-app notifications, or any other notification surface with spam.
  • Do not register OAuth applications under deceptive names or with misleading consent screens.

Automation that the official API does not support (web scraping, headless browsing, cookie replay) is not permitted.

7. Beta and NDA-Gated Features

  • If you have accepted a Beta NDA or other supplemental terms to access pre-release features, comply with them. Leaks, screenshots, or descriptions of NDA-gated features published outside permitted channels are a violation.
  • Reporting a bug in a beta feature to the team is encouraged and is not a leak.

8. Enforcement

Moderation actions may include:

  1. Verbal warning
  2. Formal warning
  3. Temporary suspension
  4. Permanent ban
  5. VTC dissolution (where applicable)
  6. OAuth application revocation (where applicable)

Serious violations — including the prohibited categories in section 2 — may result in immediate permanent ban without progressive enforcement. Where potentially illegal activity is identified, we may report it to relevant authorities.

9. Appeals

You may appeal moderation actions through the support portal within 14 days. Appeal outcomes are reviewed by a different staff member where possible and are final once communicated to you.

10. Reporting

Use the report system or open a support ticket. Where you are reporting a security vulnerability rather than a behavioral issue, use [email protected].

Retaliation against good-faith reporting is itself a violation of this Code.

11. Updates

This Code of Conduct may be updated as the community evolves. The effective date will be updated when changes are published.
